Solid Oak Flooring
The majority of our oak is sourced from French forests such as in the Allier department in the heart of France. With high altitude the oak grows slowly allowing for the timber to naturally harden with age making this oak highly prized within furniture industry. One of the main reasons customers choose solid oak over engineered is the desire to have a pure natural material to work and live with. Solid Oak can be sanded down and refinished multiple times, more so than engineered. Solid oak can be sanded down close to the tongue and groove and will generally give approx 8mm of wear as compared with engineered wood flooring that gives between 3 and 6mm of wear layer)
