Solid Quarter Sawn Oak Prime Unfinished
Quarter sawn flooring is where the log is cut into quarters and then across the grain. This method produces a much more consistent grain pattern with the grain of the floor much closer together and straighter. Boards tend to be longer in length and feature medullary rays. Due to the tight grain and minimal variation. These boards are also more dimensionally stable. Quarter Sawn Oak flooring provides an elegant floor with consistent colour and ideal for formal rooms. The board lengths are typically 2-3m and supplied unfinished for finishing on site to your own specification. For more information on how quarter sawn timber is made please see our page on solid wood flooring.
